Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 August 2026

This policy explains what personal data ADEL collects, why, and what rights you have over it. It is written to meet Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25), Canada's PIPEDA, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies to customers in the European Union.

Who is responsible for your data

The controller is:

Tyler Pernitsch, operating as ADEL (sole proprietorship)
Vaudreuil-Dorion, Québec, Canada — full postal address available on request at hello@getadel.com
Email: hello@getadel.com

Website analytics

We count visits to this site so we can see which pages and which referrals are working. For each page view we store the date and time, the page address, the referring website, an approximate city-level location supplied by our network provider, and any campaign tag in the link you followed.

We do not store your IP address, and we do not set an analytics cookie or use any fingerprinting or third-party tracker. Locations are rounded to roughly eleven kilometres, so they identify a city, not a person or an address. These records are deleted automatically after 30 days.

The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. To ask what we hold or to have it erased, write to support@getadel.com.

Cookies and local storage

ADEL uses the minimum necessary. Your selected country and currency are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device — this never reaches our servers and is not used to track you. Any analytics or marketing cookies are set only after you consent, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Who we share data with

We share personal data only with processors who need it to deliver your order:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Shipping carriers — delivery and customs clearance
  • Email service provider — order confirmations and the drop list
  • Hosting provider — running this website

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.

International transfers

Some processors are based outside the European Economic Area, primarily in the United States. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or by an adequacy decision.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have your data erased where we have no continuing legal basis to keep it
  • Restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out

Exercise any of these by emailing hello@getadel.com. We respond within 30 days as required.

Note that some data cannot be erased on request: Canadian tax law requires us to retain invoice and transaction records for six years.

Marketing email

We email the drop list only with consent, and only when there is a drop. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe. Unsubscribing removes you from marketing but not from transactional email about orders you have placed.

Security

Data is transmitted over TLS and stored encrypted at rest. Access is limited to staff who need it. Activation codes are stored as hashes, never as plaintext. If a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk of serious injury, we notify the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec and, where the GDPR applies, the relevant EU supervisory authority within 72 hours, and we notify affected customers directly where the risk is high.

Children

ADEL products are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Complaints

If you believe we have handled your data unlawfully you may lodge a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca), or with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the European Union you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would prefer you raise it with us first.

Changes

Material changes to this policy are announced by email to registered customers before they take effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
