ADEL Private Court
Montréal·001

The evening
Arrival
Quiet signage, a numbered invitation, and a check-in that takes a moment rather than a queue.
The object
ADEL 001 displayed as a piece of design — not fifty paddles on a trestle table. One of five hundred, shown as one of five hundred.
Play
A showcase court and open play on ADEL paddles. Strong players and people picking one up for the first time, deliberately in the same room.
After
A lounge, music, food, and the conversations that are the actual reason to hold an evening like this.
The run of play
How the evening moves.
No programme, no speeches, no step-and-repeat. The shape below is the commitment; the clock times follow once the venue is confirmed.
Doors
A numbered invitation, a name that is already known at the door, and a drink in your hand before anyone asks you what you do.
The object
ADEL 001 on a single lit plinth. One paddle, not a wall of them. You can pick it up. Someone who knows how it was made is standing next to it.
Play
A showcase court and open play. Two strong players on for twenty minutes, then it opens up. Paddles are provided; nobody is expected to bring anything or to be good.
The table
Food, low light, and no programme. This is the part the evening is actually for, and the reason capacity stops where it does.
The card
Everyone leaves with the names of two people they should have met and did not. We make the introduction the following week.
Why an evening
A launch party sells you something. This is not that.
The room is the product.
Most brand events are a queue, a wall of stock, a photographer, and a bag on the way out. Nobody plays. Nobody meets anybody. Everyone leaves with a product they could have bought online and no reason to come back.
Private Court is built the other way round. Capacity is capped low enough that you can meet most of the room. There is one paddle on display, not fifty. The court is used. The food is sat down for. If you leave having played well and met two people worth knowing, the evening worked — whether or not you ever buy anything.
Montréal is 001 because it is where we are. The format is numbered so it can travel without pretending each city is the first.
Venue and date are being finalised. Capacity is small and invitations go out personally before the event is announced publicly. Nothing on this page is ticketed, there is no charge to request an invitation, and no partner venue has been confirmed or named.
