ADEL makes objects, runs experiences, and is building a private club. Designed in Vienna, based in Montréal. New, and not pretending otherwise.
Our Story
ADEL exists to build sporting objects the way we think they should be built.
Most sporting goods are built to a season and a price point. That is a legitimate way to run a business, and it is not the one we are interested in.
ADEL began in Vienna on a different premise, and now runs from Montréal. Make one thing at a time. Make it out of what it should be made of. Produce a fixed number, number each one, and close the edition. No second run, no quiet reprint in a different colourway six months later.
That constraint is not marketing. It changes what you are able to build. When you are producing 500 units instead of 50,000, you can specify a thermoformed unibody instead of a glued edge guard. You can weight-match every piece by hand. You can stand behind a one-year warranty, because you know exactly how many exist and who owns each one.
What we release, we release once.
The ADEL RuleCraft
The first object is a pickleball paddle because that is where the gap is widest.
It is the fastest-growing sport in North America, played increasingly by people with real standards and real budgets, and served by equipment that mostly still looks like it was designed for a school gymnasium.
ADEL 001 was specified the way we believe a sporting object should be built: an edgeless thermoformed shell, a continuous perimeter, and the ADEL Performance Core — engineered for controlled power, stability and consistent response. We publish what the paddle is. We do not publish claims we have not yet proven in the field.
Sport
Equipment is the entry point, not the boundary.
The thread running through everything ADEL will make is sport — how it is played, where it is played, and the people you play it with. Apparel and training equipment follow the object. ADEL Experiences puts people in a room. ADEL Private Club is the membership being built around all of it.
We are not building a catalogue. We are building a sequence of things, each one finished before the next one starts.
Collections
Numbered, limited editions. When an edition closes it is never reproduced — no second run, no quiet reprint in a different colour. ADEL 001 is the first.
Essentials
The pieces worth keeping in the range. Made to the same standard, without an edition number, so the ones that earn their place can stay.
Performance First
Materials are chosen for how they play, not how they photograph. If a detail does not make the piece better to use, it does not ship.
Where ADEL is based
ADEL was designed in Vienna and is based in Montréal. Orders ship worldwide from Montréal on a delivered at place basis, which means import duties and taxes are not included in the price and are payable by the recipient where they apply.
Future locations
ADEL intends to open permanent spaces — courts, a members’ lounge, recovery, retail and a concierge desk under one roof. None exist yet. Before committing to a building we will test the idea in temporary form, starting with ADEL Private Court in Montréal. When there is a location to announce, it will be announced here and nowhere before.
How ADEL drops work
Each drop is announced to the list before anywhere else, with a fixed unit count published up front. When the run sells through, the product page stays live as a record but the item is marked retired. We do not reissue. If you want to be told about the next one, join the list.
What makes ADEL different
Three things. Fixed production — every drop has a published unit count and is never restocked. Serialised ownership — every paddle is numbered and registered, so authenticity and warranty are verifiable, including on the secondhand market. Construction over decoration — a thermoformed edgeless unibody with a raw 18K carbon face, chosen for how it plays rather than how it photographs.
Partnerships
ADEL is building a network across sporting clubs, hotels and resorts, hospitality, travel, creators, athletes and adjacent brands — the relationships that make a concierge and a programme of experiences possible. If that is you, the partnerships page is the way in.
